From the book, The Master Speaks

By Garth Fisher

The old student – approaching the end of his life’s journey.

Sitting alone at a table,

eating a meal in a small ashram off the main path.

Quiet solitude, sky and trees, pond and grass, wind and sun,

all elements of the physical world in front of him.

In this silent space and alone,

contemplating the coming end of his current life time,

tears began to roll down his face.

A deep sense of alone-ness and wondering,

welled up in his mind

so many memories of the journey — all the people,

events, the struggles, the accomplishments,

the painful setbacks,

flooded his body and mind.

The final question, asked by his Heart

Over all —– has it been a life well lived    ?????
