I learned a new word the other day, sillage. Sillage is noun which means the degree to which a perfume’s fragrance lingers in the air when worn. Sillage is pronounced see aj.  Many years ago, when perfume was used more some people seemed to be more liberal in their dowsing. I remember walking down a long hallway at work and smelling a perfume that a coworker wore, sure enough she was in sight when I got through the door. In 1994, I was at the Rose Bowl Parade sitting at the top of the stands when I smelled a familiar perfume, looking around I saw her sitting 30 feet away at the bottom of the stands way to my right. Another woman I worked with used a different perfume so liberally my eyes watered, I tried to discreetly tell her to tone it down but wasn’t direct enough. I asked her what perfume she was wearing, she said, “It’s Charlie, you should get some for your wife.” I believe that both these women have passed on but in case they haven’t I won’t use their names.

So, what does this have to do with Trump? His stench is going to permeate the country for the next decade, I don’t understand how a liar can tell so many lies that many people believe it is the truth. Many people believe that he will fix the economy, not believing that we currently have a robust economy. But how can a man who bankrupted his casino be believed to be a smart business man. He’s a grifter and a scam artist, who has probably broken every commandment in his made in China bible. Back when I smoked, often someone would come up and bum a smoke, not a big deal with the price back then. We had a saying that they smoked OP’s, other people’s cigarettes. Trump is like that, he doesn’t spend his own money, he spends OP’s other people’s money. He used the RNC and different PAC’s to pay his legal fees. If Biden and his administration really was as corrupt as Trump said, Trump would not be walking around. Now that Trump’s Supreme Court said the President is immune for anything, how come Biden hasn’t taken Trump to Guantanamo?

I hope that I am wrong about the stench that Trump is going to leave behind but looking at his nominees I don’t hold out much hope. RFK, Jr. was nominated for head of Health and Human Services. RFK is an enemy of vaccinations and fluoride in water, which is open to debate but let’s see if he can outlaw Aspartame, and other food additive in our food, including McDonalds. Let us see if he goes after factory farms and big meat and grain processing plants. Let’s see if he goes after Big Pharma.

Trump nominated Pete Hegseth, a former Fox commentator as head of the Department of Defense. Trump seems to want to break every alliance our country is in, and I agree that we no longer should be the World’s policeman. Let’s see if he goes after the bloated budget of the DoD. The 2023 budget was 13% of the federal budget at $820 billion. 

Trump wants to eliminate the Department of Education, so he nominated Linda McMahon, the CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment. I’m sure they’ll wait until they get a Bible in every classroom. I don’t have a problem with kids knowing the Bible, if Trump really knew the Bible he might have some ethics. I would prefer them to include the Koran, Buddhist teaching, Native American teachings, Hindu teachings, Greek mythology and Norse mythology. There is a plethora of knowledge out there, don’t limit students to one.

I have little hope that Trump’s tenure will be a success, without his lies his last term wasn’t a success. He sows Chaos and that is what I am afraid he will succeed in bringing to the US. Like I said before, I hope I am wrong. Do me a favor though, the next time you buy gas save your receipt and look at it in a year.
