Wouldn’t it be cool if every person in the world had their DNA tested and we all knew what our ancestry was and what countries our relatives were from. Then maybe we would realize that we are made up of many nationalities and we are one big melting pot. We might realize that the person down the street that we were taught to distrust or hate is really made up of the same stuff that we are.
Many of the races are made up from the same blood lines. There have been so many interracial babies created from wars etc. that there probably aren’t any “pure” blood lines from one race/country unless they’ve been hidden away deep in a jungle somewhere.
How would it change our thought process if we knew we were “related” to that person living in that “other” country. Would there be less fighting and arguing?
In America we are all immigrants. Our relatives have all come from other countries. Even the First Peoples/Native Americans have been mixed with the new immigrants and are of mixed blood. Plus, there had to have been children created from the different native tribes long ago not to mention the white women.
You could even go back to long ago when the waring men from many countries celebrated by conquering the women which created a new mixed blood line.
My blood line like I’m sure many peoples out there is a varied mixed assortment of countries like Norway, England, Scotland, Germany, Sweden and Ireland. So, knowing that I might want to know more about those countries and people.
“Learn about your ancestry” could be courses taught in schools. Starting with the basics for younger ages and then more advanced courses for the older children.
Everyone being taught a second language at a very young age (when it is easier to learn) would help broaden children’s outlook. Even hopefully some day having the opportunity to travel to other countries to expand their outlooks to beyond their own city boundaries. This could be a way to create less hate in the world and more understanding and compassion.
