For those of us following the Tibetan Masters tradition, 2025 is a monumental year. It marks the time for the Masters of Wisdom to review what has transpired in the past 100 years and plan for the next 100 years. This gathering takes place at the time of the full moon in Taurus in May. The Masters speak and the Planetary Logos evolution is evaluated and focus and direction for the planet’s development are set in motion. The Buddha and the Christ come together as leading parts of this celebration. I believe we can be part of this by our actions, words and thoughts. We accept where the world is now and direct our goal and intention to future “betterment” for all humanity.

On a planetary and cosmic level, what follows is a listing of astrological and astronomical events for the next three months.

Shereen Campbell writes:

Prepare for a Year of Big Shifts and Cosmic Surprises

SC – “The astrological forecast for 2025 is nothing short of transformative, with several outer planets shifting into new signs and a series of powerful retrogrades and eclipses that promise big changes. It’s a year where the cosmos is asking us to embrace new beginnings, face challenges head-on, and let go of what’s no longer working in our lives. Whether you’re an astrology enthusiast or just looking to navigate the energies of the year, 2025 is a time to lean into growth and transformation.”

JD – This transformation or upheaval seems to be a repeated theme from several astrologers and sites that I have been following. It also appears that astrology/tarot readers I have read in the past are more reluctant to show clear predictions.  EXCEPT—there is potential and uncertainty. New beginnings and a lot of chaos.

SC – “2025 is all about new beginnings—but not without a bit of cosmic chaos. Neptune enters fiery Aries for the first time in over a century, shaking up our dreams and ideals, while Uranus briefly enters curious Gemini, sparking innovation and the desire for change. Pluto continues its slow and steady revolution through Aquarius, pushing us to reimagine power structures and societal norms. With three Mercury retrogrades, Venus and Mars retrogrades, and four eclipses, we’ll be doing plenty of reflection, revisiting, and reevaluation. But don’t worry—the universe is clearing the path for something better!”

Eclipses in 2025: Moments of Dramatic Change

SC – “Eclipses are known for bringing fated changes, endings, and new beginnings. In 2025, we’ll experience four eclipses that will create pivotal moments throughout the year. The two lunar eclipses in March (Virgo) and September (Pisces) will likely reveal hidden truths or emotional shifts, especially in relation to health and spirituality. The solar eclipses in March (Aries) and September (Virgo) will trigger new opportunities and awakenings, particularly in areas of identity and work.”

JD – These are times for cosmic course-corrections. Keep asking, Is this still serving me to help humanity and me get to a “better” place?

Venus Retrograde (March 1st – April 12th, 2025) in Aries and Pisces

Since I can’t say it better, I refer back to Shereen—”Venus retrogrades are all about reviewing our relationships, values, and self-worth. In 2025, Venus starts its retrograde in fiery Aries, where we’ll be pushed to evaluate our desire for independence, our passions, and how we assert ourselves in love. Then, it dips back into dreamy Pisces, bringing a more introspective and emotionally intense energy, where we may question the depth of our connections and our relationship to unconditional love.”

JD – Venus in retrograde—slows us down to stay in that energy and really look at our values. We are asking how we can develop stronger and deeper connections.

Mercury Retrogrades (x3) in Aries, Pisces, Leo, Sagittarius, and Scorpio

SC – “If you’ve survived a few Mercury retrogrades, you know the drill: communication breakdowns, tech glitches, and travel delays. But 2025’s Mercury retrogrades are happening in some pretty fiery signs, which means these periods could feel extra intense. The first retrograde (March 15th – April 7th) is in Aries and Pisces, pushing us to rethink how we communicate our passions and navigate emotional boundaries.”

JD – There could be a lot of emotional times and old events revisited. What can we simplify in life and can we be more direct and clearer?

Mars Retrograde (December 6th, 2024 – February 23rd, 2025) in Leo and Cancer

SC – “Mars retrograde is a cosmic slowdown in areas of drive, ambition, and motivation. When Mars is in the bold Leo, it will challenge our confidence and creative expression. As Mars moves into Cancer, emotions come into play, and old family or home issues may resurface.

Astro Butterfly adds – “Mars only goes retrograde once every 2 years, so when it does, that’s quite a big deal. This is a significant astrological event because it’s so rare. Mercury goes retrograde three times a year, the outer planets once a year. Mars goes retrograde only every 26 months. Expect important changes and developments. . . we may feel a strong sense of urgency and feel compelled to act even though the timing may not support it. So be sure your goals and motivations are aligned.”

JD – Watch your energy level and do what you need to stay steady. Whatever inspires or renews you will help.

Neptune Enters Aries (March 30th, 2025)

SC – “Neptune’s transition into Aries marks a huge shift in the collective consciousness. Neptune, the planet of dreams, spirituality, and illusion, has been in sensitive Pisces for over a decade. When it enters bold, assertive Aries, we’ll experience a collective desire for spiritual independence and action. This transit will shake up our beliefs, pushing us to break free from escapism and take bold steps toward our dreams. Neptune briefly retrogrades back into Pisces later in the year, giving us a chance to integrate these new lessons.”

JD – We might be asked to take our prayers and petitions to more active approaches. We envision “better” – see it happening and let our “spiritual warrior” move us with heart felt direction and courage. Keeping grounded and practical we take inspired steps into unknown territory—new approaches. We want to stay engaged and not withdraw or withhold our participation. 

The months to follow are predicted to bring more stability and a bold new chapter of personal responsibility, leadership and action, fulfilling humanity’s spiritual warrior dharma.
