Project name:  UW-Madison School of Nursing Centennial Mural Project

Mural title: Forward Into the Heart of Nursing

‘Forward Into the Heart of Nursing’ was created by Cosmic Butterfly Design in collaboration with over 150 faculty, staff and students as part of celebrating the School of Nursing’s 100-year anniversary. Through visioning sessions with faculty, students and staff, an online survey and research into the school’s nursing museum and archives, ideas were gathered from over 135 participants and molded into this vision. Several community painting sessions brought in members of the college’s School of Nursing, friends from all over the region and alum who helped paint the base colors of paint. Professional touches were added later to finish the mural.

The UW-Madison School of Nursing is a remarkable beacon of light for intellect and heart, science and caring. At its core, the principal of caring in the field of nursing plays a much more powerful, long reaching and pivotal role beginning in academia than many may realize.
